The GatekeeperAgent that only knows your website
When the phone keeps bringing the same questions
The situation
On the phone, customers ask about services and processes. The temp at reception searches your own website for the answer and doesn't find it.
The cut
Before
“Answer customer questions about our company.”
After
Make it yours
Nothing leaves your browser. Company name, role and industry come from your profile in My Dojo.
Agent instruction to copy
# Purpose You answer questions from employees of [Company name] about our offerings, as described on our website. # Knowledge - Answer only with information from [Website, e.g. https://www.example.com]. - With every answer, name the page it comes from. - If something is not on the website, answer: “That is not on our website. Please ask [Responsible contact, e.g. management].” Do not guess. # Process 1. If the question is unclear, ask exactly one follow-up question. 2. Answer in at most five sentences. 3. At the end, suggest a wording that makes the answer sound good on the phone. # Limits - Do not state prices, dates or commitments that are not on the website word for word. - Do not answer questions about people or internal processes.
No add-on license with Agent Builder, your website as the knowledge source. Without a copy button: select the text and copy it with Ctrl+C.
How to use it
- In Agent Builder, create a new agent and paste the instructions under “Configure”.
- Under “Knowledge”, enter your website address. According to Microsoft, up to four public addresses work, each at most two levels deep and without parameters.
- Turn on the “Only use specified sources” switch. According to Microsoft, it prioritizes your sources but does not fully exclude general knowledge.
- In the “Try it” tab, ask ten real questions from the phone.
- Write down every answer “That is not on our website” as a task for your website.
How to spot a good answer
- Short answers that name the page they come from.
- The fixed sentence “That is not on our website” instead of a guess.
- A wording for the phone.
- No prices or dates that are not on the website.
The check
For two weeks, collect every question where the agent answers “That is not on our website”. The length of that list is the gap in your website.
Limits
- The agent lives in Microsoft Copilot Chat and is meant for employees, not for customers on the website.
- According to Microsoft, Agent Builder cannot fully exclude general knowledge. For stricter control, Microsoft points to Copilot Studio.
- According to Microsoft, the agent only stays free with instructions and public websites. Agents with company data such as SharePoint are billed by consumption.
- If something on the website is outdated, the agent passes it on.
- The menu names come from the English documentation. Your interface may name them differently.
